Kamisori Razors

What is a Kamisori Razor exactly? The Kamisori dates back to more than eight hundred years ago. Used by Buddhist monks to shave their heads, a symbol of the Buddhist faith. The most glaringly obvious difference between eastern razors and western razors is the lack of scales (handle) for the blade to fold into. This can make storing them and their portability a bit of an issue – hence the high-quality leather pouch supplied with every Kamisori razor. The blade of a Kamisori is traditionally also shorter; an authentic example never exceeds two inches. Uniquely shaped for more effective sharpening.

Unique to Dark Stag, this straight-handled razor uses regular double-edge razor blades, meaning you can choose your favourite brand. With one edge used per client, it provides the most cost effective route to a perfect shave. The spring-mounted one touch blade-holding mechanism can be opened easily for cleaning and disinfecting. Changing the blade takes just two seconds; simply pinch the head to remove the used blade and pop in the replacement - see video above.

The Dark Stag DSO is a purpose built barber scissor. This specialist barber scissor has been designed to provide a reliable and durable straight and crisp cut and is truly a tool you can trust to create your chosen styles. These scissors are a versatile and solid choice for any professional barber.
The acute bevel edge ensures a clean and straight cut suitable for all types of work including more advanced techniques. The high performance stainless steel ensures long lasting precision and an effortless reliable feel. The acute bevel edge also eliminates hair bending and pushing. The cutting edge is designed to provide lasting trustworthy clean cuts. The DSO blades are also hollow ground, which increases cutting efficiency and gives you the silent precision cuts that you expect of a premium scissor.
The offset handle design moves the hand into a more comfortable and natural cutting position. This allows for a more open hand position and for the arm and elbow to be in a lower position reducing the effects of RSI (repetitive strain injury) and Carpal Tunnel Syndrome.
An ultra precise screw system provides both stable tension and a silent, smooth feel free from resistance. But you can adjust this to your hearts content with the supplied screw adjuster. Finger rest is removable on these barbers scissors. We also supply finger ring inserts to adjust the size of the finger holes and ensure a perfect fit for barbers with slimmer hands.
